Psychologically Assisted Pilot Screening System / Fixed Wing Pilot Candidates (FPS/F)
The Simulation System FPS/F assists the screening and selection of pilot candidates. In addition to evaluating the ability of flight fitness it also allows analysis of candidates’ skills for a later designated assignment, identifying the candidates’ specific qualifications for pilots, weapon system control officers, cargo aircraft pilots or air operations officers.
The candidate must complete specific flight scenarios and handle various pre-defined exercises with increasing levels of difficulty. Through the stress levels, a precise performance level of each candidate is shown. In applying this selection process, the system assists in excluding inappropriate candidates in the first instance and in the second instance determining the best suited candidates to a specific training curriculum. Hence, it increases the overall success rate of a lengthy schooling and saves expenses by excluding unsuitable personnel right at the beginning.
The system allows flight psychologists and trainers to define and integrate their own optimized demonstration, training and test scenarios. The integrated software generates practical test reports with graphic illustrations based on automated mission data evaluation. All cockpits can be linked to run complex scenarios with multiple users. A system integrated modeling station is available for extending the database with new models and terrain. The open software structure allows for scalability.
