e.sigma Radar Simulators are designed as table desktop systems or as a complete functional reproduction of any actual radar equipment based on analog or digital radar display technology (Air Surveillance Radar, Precision Approach Radar). The radar displays provide the controller with primary and secondary radar information combined with a command-input interface.

During the simulation, the controller monitors the traffic in his control sector and at the same time keeps track of all events by analyzing all given information, including control strips (flight strips). In this manner, the controller organizes the traffic by issuing appropriate clearances via radio, executing adequate coordination of aircraft, handling emergencies and performing alert and information services.

Depending on customer preferences, e.sigma Radar Simulator can be equipped with electronic and/or paper flight strip systems. The electronic flight strips appear on the Radar screen. In the strip, flight operations and plans are displayed, processed and executed in active and inactive fields of the strip window. This activity dynamically updates as the exercise progresses. The command screen displays one electronic flight strip for each aircraft target.

As aircraft become active in the exercise, or are authorized by the instructor to become active in the exercise, the aircraft’s electronic flight strip will appear in the appropriate group at the controller and the pilot positions to which it is assigned or transferred.
