Simulation Arms / Optical Equipment
Depending on the customer‘s needs, GLADIOTM simulators can either be equipped to work with modified original weapons and accessories (such as target scopes, night vision goggles, thermal imaging devices, binoculars) or with extremely realistic replicas. e.sigma has the technical expertise to provide either option and in fact specializes in the replication of semi- and fully-automated rifles, machine guns and pistols. An additional focus comes in the precise replication of sniper weapons.
All weapons include standardized integrated simulation elements for recoil and sensoring as well as a highly precise modeling of weapons ballistics, including the effect on the target. Typical weapon elements (trigger, shot type, safety, recoil and latch) match those of the original. The magazine is modified with a chip containing the magazine ID, available / remaining ammunition and ammunition type. If a „virtual magazine“ has been exhausted, then the trainee must replace it with another magazine. A precise calculation of ballistics based on factors like ammunition, air pressure, wind, temperature, dispersion and misalignment of the weapon conveys precise shooting behavior.
A precise laser-based aim point detection system is used to capture the sightline on accessories as well as the aim point itself and provides the basis data for precise shot calculation.
